Esprit Rafts - We exclusively use 14ft. (7 person) self bailing SOTAR rafts. Rather than conventional 20ft (12 person) rafts, Esprit boats are lighter, faster and more maneuverable allowing us reach the best waves on the river.
The Esprit Personable Group Size - Our guest/guide ratio of 7:1 rather than 12:1 is the most "user friendly" in the industry! Our trips run to a maximum of 12 boats and we cater to just one trip per day. With Esprit, you are more than just a number!

WHITEWATER RAFTING THE OTTAWA RIVER Dare to compare! Not all rafting companies are considered equal!
Only Esprit offers you both channels of the Ottawa River in the same day. That means twice the rapids, twice the adventure, twice the excitement and twice the fun.
Each channel has a unique variety of rapids, from the steep 5m waterfall of Garvin’s Chute on the Calumet Channel to the towering waves of Coliseum on the Rocher Fendu Channel. Both channels feature great Canadian wilderness.
Esprit guides carefully select the route through each rapid, skirting obstacles for the faint-of-heart (you also have the option to walk around certain rapids) and maneuvering the rafts into the biggest and best waves on the river for the more adventurous, adrenaline-crazed crews. Our trip is designed with the perfect balance for both first-timers and experienced rafters alike.
THE ESPRIT 2-CHANNEL DAY The morning: First we challenge the rapids of the Calumet Channel featuring Garvin’s Chute (a 5m high waterfall) and the roller coaster waves of Lower Ostrom’s. Between the rapids, we float tranquil pools, swim, body surf, cliff jump… then "dig-in” to a well-deserved riverside picnic lunch.
The Afternoon: We pack in plenty of action on the Rocher Fendu Channel riding the crashing waves of The Lorne, Butcher's Knife and the Coliseum - an array of world class whitewater. Each "self-bailing" raft (that's right! - you don't have to bail) that is expertly captained by one of our personable and professional guides. After the trip, celebrate the day with an ice cold beer, juice or soft drink… the first round is on us!
The secret to our success is easy. We run smaller trips and smaller boats than other outfitters. Our small trip size keeps the trip moving, reducing unnecessary waiting.
Our smaller 14ft. self bailing rafts are simply…much better! They are faster, more maneuverable, more coordinated and more fun. We firmly believe that if your raft holds more than 8 paddlers…it’s just too big. Two runs for the price of one-only with Esprit! Don’t settle for less!
FAMILY FLOAT TRIPS Family float trips and gentle rafting excursions allow children age 7-11 to experience the excitement of whitewater in a more controlled setting. Parents seeking a more adventurous whitewater challenge, yet wish to raft together as a family, are forced to make a choice.
At Esprit, we feel we have found the solution to this dilemma. Combining the best of both worlds, the whole family rafts together in the morning on the Calumet Channel.
Our professional, internationally certified guides will steer your rafts through roller coaster wave trains and challenge your family to an exciting, thrilling and controlled whitewater experience suitable for all ages. In the afternoon, children under 12 partake in supervised water sports and nature hikes while those 12 and over, head out on the Rocher Fendu channel to raft an array of world class whitewater.
