In the jungle surrounding Tena, The Napo River and its tributaries offer whitewater enthusiasts a seemingly endless array of world class paddling. Passing through pristine jungle, remote canyons and thunderous waterfalls, the rivers of Ecuador will be our gateway to the diverse richness of both flora and fauna of the Amazon jungle. The “Week of Rivers” program combines an uncommonly varied week of paddling - from steep, technical creeking to big volume fun. Our exact itinerary will depend on prevailing water levels and, for kayakers, your degree of expertise. Off the rivers, enjoy the festive and vibrant Ecuadorian culture as we wander the famous handicraft markets of Otavalo. The colorful displays of woven rugs, belts and clothing provide a bright backdrop alongside the baskets of beans, rice and grains that make up the staples of Ecuadorian cuisine. Spectacular canyons, pristine rivers, dramatic waterfalls, challenging whitewater and teeming rainforest jungle combine for an active, adventurous and unforgettable holiday.
